Foreign citizens coming to Ukraine can cross the border under the rules of visa and visa-free regime between your country of citizenship and Ukraine.

In Ukraine, there are 3 types of visas that can be obtained:

Transit visa B

It is received by foreign citizens for the purpose of passing through the territory of Ukraine to another country.

This type of visa implies a very short transit visit to Ukraine: travel, transportation of goods and passengers, travel of crew members of foreign ships.

This type of visa does not need to be obtained when traveling by plane if you have a connecting flight and do not plan to leave the terminal area at the airport.

Short term visa C

A short-term visa type C is issued to foreign citizens to visit Ukraine for up to 90 days.

This type of visa can be 1, 2 or multiple entry.

This visa implies a short-term visit to Ukraine: business visit, private visit, tourism, treatment, etc.

Long term visa D

This type of visa is issued to foreigners to obtain a residence permit in Ukraine.

The visa is issued for 90 days, and it is always reusable.

This type of visa implies a long-term visit to Ukraine: family reunification, employment, training, volunteering, etc.

How do you know what kind of visa you need?

Everything is simple. It depends on the purpose of your visit.

If you plan to visit Ukraine more than 90 days in half a year, you need to apply for a residence permit or get a new visa.

Example: a foreign citizen came to Ukraine at the invitation. He married a citizen of Ukraine.

After that, he can stay in the country for the period specified in his visa to Ukraine.

After the expiration of the visa, he can either get a new visa or get a visa to apply for a residence permit.

Not everyone needs a visa to Ukraine
