Foreign citizens in Ukraine can be members of public organizations and have the status of a volunteer.

Who is a volunteer?
A foreigner who came to Ukraine, applied to the Public Organization is a volunteer.
A volunteer organization must notify the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine that you will be performing volunteer activities in this organization.
Which organizations are eligible?
To become a volunteer in a Ukrainian organization, it is necessary that the organization be registered in accordance with the procedure established by law.

Volunteer visa
Citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Uzbekistan can stay no more than 90 calendar days according to the rules of the visa-free regime with Ukraine.
Citizens of Belarus – no more than 180 days.
If more time is needed to carry out volunteer activities, it is necessary to obtain a residence permit.
Citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Uzbekistan do not need a visa to Ukraine.
Citizens of all other countries are required to obtain visa type D-10
It is issued for 90 calendar days in order to obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine based on participation in volunteer organizations.
Volunteer Residence Permit
A foreigner, becoming a member of a public organization, can obtain a residence permit.
To do this, he needs to apply to a public organization. Get “volunteer” status.
Obtain a visa type D-10 other than the countries listed above.
And submit documents for obtaining a temporary residence permit in Ukraine no later than 22-24 calendar days before the expiration date.
Example: A visa is issued for 90 days. Not later than 24 days means 90-24 = 66 days. That is, you can stay on a visa for 66 days, but if you miss the 66th day, the Migration Service of Ukraine will not accept your application for consideration, because it will not have time to process it on time.
The same applies to citizens of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Uzbekistan.
They need to apply documents no later than the 66th day of their stay according to the rules of the visa-free regime 90/180.
Citizens of Belarus no later than 156 days, according to the rule of visa-free stay 180/360.
Terms of consideration of residence permit of a volunteer
The term for consideration of an application for a temporary residence permit in Ukraine is 22-24 calendar days.
The Migration Service refers to 15 working days. Considering the weekend, in most cases it is 22-24 calendar days. Except the month of December before the New Year.
