Residence permit in Poland

There are 2 types of residence permits in Poland: temporary and permanent.

In Poland, a residence permit is called a pobytu card (karta pobytu).

A temporary residence permit (pobyt czasowy) is issued for a period of 6 months to 3 years, with the possibility of its extension in the future..

A permanent residence permit (stały pobyt) is issued for an unlimited period. It must be renewed every 10 years to update the information in the Migration Service.

an extract from a social insurance institution in Poland,
documents of the basis for applying for a residence permit.

They must confirm your purpose of arrival and the need for a residence permit in Poland.

For example, it can be:

Marriage certificate,
Work permit,
Card of an employee of a representative office of a foreign company,
Order of student enrollment at the university.

Requirements for your passport document:
1. Be valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry into Poland,
2. Have at least 2 free pages,
3. Issued for no more than 10 years.

To obtain a residence permit in Poland, foreign citizens must have a valid visa.

A residence permit in Poland is issued with a national visa of Poland. You can also apply if you have a Schengen visa for work or study.

Citizens of countries with a visa-free regime with Poland may not receive a visa to Poland.
They have the right to submit documents without a visa for the regime of stay in the country for 90 out of 180 days.

Citizens of all other countries need to obtain a national visa to Poland, depending on the basis.

You can apply for a residence permit in Poland in person or by mail.

The term for consideration of your application in the authorities for work with foreign citizens in Poland, according to the law, is 30 calendar days when submitted in person or by mail.

After a positive decision is made by the authorities for working with foreign citizens, you have the right to apply for a residence permit in Poland.

The deadline for issuing a pobytu card is 30 days.

When a child is born, grant him the status of a citizen of Poland.
