Permanent residence permit in Ukraine

You need to fulfill an imperative condition to apply and receive a permit for immigration to Ukraine - to be legally in the country.

If you are a citizen of a country with a visa regime with Ukraine, then the period of validity of the visa must be valid at the time of submission of documents,
If you are a citizen of a country with a visa-free regime with Ukraine, then you must have days of legal stay at the time of submission of documents.

When submitting documents for immigration to Ukraine, submitting and receiving permanent residence in Ukraine, you need to be personally at the Migration Service.

The quota of immigration to Ukraine is the maximum number of applications from foreigners for immigration to Ukraine in the current year, according to certain categories.

The immigration quota is set at the beginning of the year.
After that, it is divided into categories of grounds for filing documents.

In cases where the immigration quota in Ukraine has ended, you cannot apply for immigration. You must wait until next year to submit your documents.

Also, there are out-of-quota categories for applying for immigration and obtaining a permanent residence permit:

the presence of a husband / wife of citizens of Ukraine,
a child of a citizen of Ukraine,
parents of citizens of Ukraine,
territorial origin.

To submit documents for immigration to Ukraine, original documents are required at the time of submission:

passport document,
a document indicating the address of residence in the country of citizenship,
4 color matte photographs measuring 3.5 * 4.5 mm on a white background,
documents that are the basis for obtaining a permanent residence permit.

Documents for permanent residence must be legalized for Ukraine, translated into Ukrainian and certified by a notary.

When applying for immigration to Ukraine under a quota, you also need:

a document confirming no criminal record in the country of your citizenship,
a certificate of passing a preventive drug examination, issued in Ukraine (140 / o),
a consultative opinion of a specialist on the state of health issued in Ukraine (028 / o).

Originals of documents that are the basis for filing for immigration

It can be:

Marriage certificate, for immigration by marriage,
Birth certificate of your child and his receipt of the citizenship of Ukraine, for immigration for the child,
Your birth certificate, for immigration by parents, citizens of Ukraine.

When applying for immigration, you must be registered

When applying for immigration to Ukraine, you must be registered at the address of your actual residence in Ukraine, if you have a temporary residence permit.

If you are applying for immigration under the rules of a visa-free regime or on a visa, then you must have a notarized statement from the owner of the house or apartment in which you live in Ukraine.

At this address, the Migration Service of Ukraine, the National Police of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine will conduct checks to make sure that you really live there.

To apply for a permanent residence card, original documents are required at the time of submission:

passport document,
valid visa to Ukraine in passport D-1,
a certified copy of an immigration permit to Ukraine.

Requirements for your passport document:

1. Be valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry into Ukraine,
2. Have at least 2 free pages,
3. Issued for no more than 10 years.

To obtain a permanent residence permit in Ukraine, foreign citizens must have a valid visa type "D-1"

Citizens of visa-free countries with Ukraine, namely:

Azerbaijanis,
Armenians,
Belarusians,
Georgians,
Moldovans,
Russians,
Uzbeks,

Should not receive a visa to Ukraine to obtain a permanent residence permit.

Citizens of all other countries need to obtain a visa type "D-1" to Ukraine, for the purpose of immigration to Ukraine, after obtaining an immigration permit.

This is a mandatory document for applying for a permanent residence card in Ukraine.

A visa may not be issued by foreigners who have a valid temporary residence permit in Ukraine at the time of submission of documents for the form of a permanent residence permit.

Obtaining a permanent residence permit in Ukraine consists of 2 stages:

Obtaining a permit for immigration to Ukraine,
Obtaining a permanent residence permit in Ukraine.

The term for consideration of submitted documents for immigration to Ukraine is up to 12 months.

After obtaining an immigration permit, you can apply for a permanent residence permit in Ukraine.

The term for issuing a permanent residence permit card is 15 working days. This is usually 22-24 calendar days.

Having received a card of a permanent residence permit in Ukraine, you will be able to:

Stay legally on the territory of Ukraine;
Live in a safe European country in which the rights and laws are respected;
To get higher education;
Travel outside Ukraine and return back, subject to certain conditions, without obtaining a new visa to enter Ukraine;
Issue an invitation for a visa for relatives to live in Ukraine;
Seek hospital care;
Get a tax payer number;
Open a bank account;
Use banking services in Ukraine;
Use banking services in Ukraine;
Apply documents for obtaining a visa at the embassies of other countries located on the territory of Ukraine;
Apply for a driver's license;
Open a company in Ukraine;
Purchase an apartment or house;
Purchase a personal vehicle;
When a child is born, grant him the status of a citizen of Ukraine.
