A student's temporary residence permit is a document that can be obtained by foreign citizens on the territory of Ukraine.
Having issued a residence permit in Ukraine, as a student of a higher educational institution, you will receive a temporary residence permit. You will be able to stay for a period exceeding the validity of a visa or the period of a visa-free regime with Ukraine.

After entering a higher educational institution in Ukraine, you can apply for a temporary residence permit for the period of study.
Foreign citizens who arrived in Ukraine for a period of more than 90 calendar days or the validity of a visa can apply for a temporary residence permit in Ukraine on the basis of university studies.
You will have the opportunity to fly home on holidays and vacations and return back to Ukraine without any special difficulties when going through border and customs control.
Conditions for obtaining a temporary residence permit based on university studies
A student's temporary residence permit is issued after entering the Ukrainian university.
To obtain a temporary residence permit in Ukraine, you must submit documents no later than 25 calendar days before the expiration of your visa or the period of stay in Ukraine under the regime of 90 out of 180 days.
Documents for registration of a student's residence permit are submitted personally to the bodies of the Migration Service of Ukraine.
After consideration by the Migration Service of your application for the issuance of documents and a positive decision, you must obtain a temporary residence permit.

A residence permit on the basis of admission to higher education institutions in Ukraine is issued only with a D-13 visa
Citizens of visa-free countries with Ukraine, namely:
- Azerbaijanis,
- Armenians,
- Belarusians,
- Georgians,
- Moldovans,
- Russians,
- Uzbeks,
When applying for a temporary residence permit in Ukraine on the basis of study at a higher educational institution in Ukraine, you need documents:
- original passport document,
- medical insurance policy for the period of study in Ukraine,
- an agreement with a university in Ukraine with confirmation of tuition fees,
- applications from the university for the issuance of documents in your name.
Requirements for your passport document:
- Be valid for at least 1 year from the date of entry into Ukraine,
- Have at least 2 free pages,
- Issued for no more than 10 years.

This is usually 22-24 calendar days.
